History:
The Batle of Britain occured from July to December 1940, during world war two. It involved a German strategy to gain air superiority over Britain so that a land assault could be mounted against Britain. The Germans lost due to the superior tactics of the British fighters. After the Battle the German airforce, the Luftwaffe, was never as strong during the war, while the British airforce remained as strong as they had always been.
